Getting started

What is ProFind?

ProFind helps engineers select connector mates, contacts and accessories, build an assembly, and review its bill of materials using official Profind catalogue data and compatibility checks.

Can I explore before signing up?

Yes. You can browse the catalogue, use the Config Tool, build an assembly and fill your cart as a guest. Creating an account is optional and lets you return to saved configurations across devices.

Do I need a part number to get started?

No. Follow the catalogue questions when available, browse categories and product types, or search for an exact manufacturer part number. Open a selected product in the Config Tool to start your build.

Which connector families are supported?

Available products and connected types are defined by the official Profind API. Browse the public catalogue for current categories, product records and connection coverage.

Configurations and saved builds

What can I do in the Config Tool?

Start with a catalogue product, add compatible mates, contacts, retention parts, seals and other accessories, then review the assembly and bill of materials before sending selected parts to checkout.

How long are guest builds saved?

Guest builds are linked to the Profind session in your browser. Clearing site cookies or using another browser can remove access to that guest workspace. Create an account or sign in to attach your guest builds and current cart to your account.

Is a saved configuration the same as my cart?

No. A configuration records your assembly and selected parts. The cart records the quantities you intend to order and can contain parts from several configurations. Review the cart before paying, especially when you have added more than one build.

Can I export a BOM or order parts?

Yes. Export a review packet from the Config Tool, or send selected parts to checkout for BOM export and ordering. Review compatibility warnings, required parts, quantities and current pricing before placing an order.

Compatibility and product data

How does ProFind check compatibility?

ProFind uses official product records, declared product relationships and compatibility checks from the Profind API. Review any unavailable checks, missing specifications and application requirements before approving the assembly.

Does ProFind replace engineering review?

No. ProFind helps narrow the selection and identify missing or incompatible components. Verify final fit, electrical requirements, environmental conditions and tooling against current manufacturer documentation before releasing a design.

Why does my build say it needs attention?

The assembly or BOM may have a missing selection, a possible mismatch, an unresolved accessory requirement or an incomplete compatibility check. Read the reported issue and resolve it before ordering.

What if product information or a compatibility check cannot be loaded?

The catalogue service may be unavailable or may not provide the required product information. Retry the check.

Cart, quantities and checkout

What does the number on the checkout icon mean?

It shows the total units currently in your cart. Open checkout from the workspace header to review the parts, their quantities and the total before ordering.

Why can I only order a part in certain quantities?

Some parts are supplied in packs or purchase multiples. The catalogue and cart show the required multiple. For a multiple of 100, valid quantities are 100, 200, 300 and so on; a quantity such as 5 is not valid.

Why can the price change when I edit quantities or proceed to checkout?

Catalogue prices are supplier snapshots. ProFind calculates the order price when you start checkout. Review the final total and currency on Stripe Checkout before paying.

Can one checkout contain multiple saved builds?

Yes. Adding parts from several builds combines quantities for the same product. Review the total on each cart line before paying.

How do saved and shared cart copies work?

Guests and signed-in shoppers can use Share Copy at checkout. Anyone with the link can view the snapshot and add its parts to their own cart. Keep the link to reopen the copy. Prices are checked again when the parts are added and ordered.

Where do I enter contact, shipping and billing details?

Review the information requested on Stripe Checkout before paying. Your account email is used for checkout. Contact order support if delivery information is missing or needs to be changed.
